" How did you get into this business?"

I grew up in a very small town called Weaverville in the mountains of North Carolina where I was raised by my maternal Grandparents William P. Hunter and Irys Edna McDuffie-Hunter. My Grandmother and I were very close and became the best of friends. She was my saving grace.
I picked up my first tube of lipstick at age 14! Due to Grandma Irys' health, she was not able to do her own hair and makeup for special functions and it was very important to her that she look nice when she went out in public. I convinced her to let me help her once for a church function because she wasnt going to go.She recieved so many complements on how she looked that day that she began to support me in anything I wanted to try.
I began to model for local stores and soon realized that people did makeup for a living! After four years of musicals and plays in highschool I picked up an even stronger desire to learn more and more.
At 21 years old I decided to spread my wings and see what the world had to offer me. I worked on various stages and in theaters from Florida to Boston, Phoenix to Santa Cruz and eventually Atlanta, GA.
It was Atlanta where I started working for the Estee Lauder Company as a promotional Makeup Artist and decided to attend school to gain more knowledge. I went to The International School of Skin and Nails and completed an internship at CNN upon graduation in 1995.
I began to work in the television, film and magazine print work industry and was represented by L'agence Agency out of Atlanta.
I have been a freelance hair and makeup artist for over 15 years now and work with some of the best photographers in the business.

In 2005 I graduated from Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory North Carolina with High Honors in Cosmotology. I have both short term and long term goals in this industry.
I thoroughly enjoy what I am doing now. I love helping my clients learn how to make themselves look better, feel better, and look great in photographs! Hope to hear from you soon and, THANK YOU for visiting my site. Have a great time!
